Overleaf is the perfect solution for anyone running a LaTeX training workshop—no need for any participant to install LaTeX: just bring a portable device equipped with a modern browser. Because Overleaf is a cloud-based LaTeX platform, it minimises support requirements and significantly reduces the organizers' workload—helping the event get off to a flying start.
One of our Advisors, Rodrigo Smarzaro, ran a workshop in May at Federal University of Viçosa, Brazil at Academic Week for the Information Systems Undergraduate Course. Here is a link to Rodrigo’s slides (they are in Portuguese). We also asked him a few questions about how it went and what was involved in setting it up.
The Digital Top 50 awards or DT50 were created by Google, McKinsey and Rocket Internet to celebrate the bold and trailblazing work of European entrepreneurs. The yearly awards assess top entrepreneurial talent from five categories: B2B and B2C Start-ups and Scale-ups as well as Tech for Social Impact Companies.
We’re excited to announce that Overleaf has been nominated for the B2C scale-up category and one of our co-founders John Hammersley will be pitching the latest on Overleaf, our collaborative writing and publishing platform, at Tech Open Air (TOA) Berlin. TOA is Europe’s leading interdisciplinary technology festival and is where the DT50 winner will be announced the same day as the pitches on 21st June.
This is the fourth in a series of tips highlighting features available in Overleaf v2. If you'd like to try v2 for yourself, the beta is now open to the public at https://v2.overleaf.com.
Overleaf v2 offers an impressive collection of new and upgraded collaboration features. The collaborative editing is faster and smoother than in Overleaf v1, and it shows you where your collaborators' cursors are as they type. The new track changes mode lets you see exactly what has been changed by your collaborators, and allows you to accept or reject each individual change. You can also comment on ranges of text in your document for precise communication.
