New feature: Toggle between auto-compile and manual-compile modes in writeLaTeX

September 16, 2013

You can now choose to pause the automatic preview of the compiled document - simply click the option in the top right corner of the preview:

The preview will now stay paused, and will not update until you choose to refresh it manually, or turn the auto-preview back on:

Why would you want to disable the preview? If you're used to working with LaTeX, it's can be easier and less distracting to work on your document and compile it every now and then, rather than having a constant auto-refresh of the preview.

It also prevents the somewhat annoying 'known errors' from popping up, for instance when you've simply not yet uploaded a figure or finished typing an equation! We hope you find this useful, and please let us know any feedback.
