London, UK & Rockville, MD: Oct 6, 2016: The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Overleaf announce today a new partnership. Authors submitting to ASBMB’s Journal of Biological Chemistry will now have access to a custom JBC authoring template on Overleaf’s collaborative cloud-based writing and reviewing tool and will be allowed to submit their manuscripts to the JBC directly from the Overleaf template.

The JBC and Overleaf created this template to simplify the submission process for JBC authors. This JBC formatted template includes instructions to authors about each manuscript section, which authors may read and then replace with their original manuscript text.  Once authors are finished, they may download their formatted PDFs and submit to the JBC using the submission link in the template.

Nancy Rodnan, Senior Director of Publications at ASBMB says:

“The JBC is excited to make this template available for our authors. We’re always looking for tools like this to make submission easier.”

John Hammersley, Founder & CEO of Overleaf says:

“It’s been great working with the ASBMB and the JBC. The newly developed authoring template and simplified submission link will make the writing and submission process a simple and streamlined one. Making life easier for our authors is one of our core missions, and this partnership with ASBMB fits perfectly with that.”

Links to the template are available on the JBC website and instructions to authors. It’s also available within the Overleaf template gallery.
